The first series was ok, but only a few of the sites were all that secret for a start. The pointless assistant in the back of the Landrover asking daft questions (and getting some infuriatingly daft answers) was pointleesly daft.

True,
although Raththurles (500AD) which featured in one program was new to me, it is also the reason for the name Nenagh which comes from Aonach or fair. So I guess you pick up some little things from it.
However on a whole if wasnt great.
