Don't think they were permanent, as there were kids with them. The main group was up at the circle, but there were also some right down by the road. It made me embarrassed to be both a camper and a stone-nerd. I try to camp on small farm sites, and never leave anything behind, particularly on the rare occasions when we have camped wild, certainly would never consider lighting fires on bone-dry moorland. Sorry, must stop ranting.
