Forest of Bowland

It looks on a map like the kinda place that should be dripping with pre-history. As much as because of the views Iron man mentions.
Perhaps pre-historic planning permission was difficult round there?
Perhaps any remains were swiped by bronze age Cumbrians?
Perhaps there's loads of stuff, but it's developed good camoflage and it knows people are looking for it?
Perhaps I should get a grip.

I've got a grip - I keep five years of receipts and payslips and stuff like that in it ...

If Bowland was dense forest x thousand years ago then it's unlikely there's megalithic remains. Same as the Wirral, same as Brum. Above that tree cover - roughly where the heather is now - there'll be loads of stuff. Little things. A person needs to spend a lot of time looking though. Is it worth it ?
