Its always been the same Dee at this site

The whole family have been obnoxious for years who own the farm and you have to go thru the farm yard to get to the site and he always has barking dogs tied up to try and put people off going thru and rips the site up every year without fail

The stones in Derbyshire are so neglected its shocking same with Stanton moor and the Barbrook stones

I saw a council worker back his van into one of the stones at Barbrook 2 when he was doing scrub clearance last year :O

breaks my heart, all this

I tramped all over Derbyshire in the 70s, tracking down monuments with the aid of old 2 1/2 " maps from Stockport Library, wading through waist high gorse, bracken, pissing off girlfriends, etc

last time we went to Arbor Low youngest got bitten by the infamous Arbor Low dog - various refs to it on TMA passim - great shame that no-one reaally seems to be interested in preserving it

best view I ever got of it was from a 747 en route to Florida from Gatwick via Manchester...came out of a cloud, & the clockface was right underneath, got a stiff neck watching it recede to starboard, unfortunately no camera within grabbing distance

flown into Manchester from S many times since, but have never spotted
it again...
