Perhaps these piers were where Stonehenge stones arrived in England. What a scoop :-)
That's fascinating Ike. The posts you show at http://farm1.static.flickr.com/144/329334615_c5441e7afe.jpg?v=0 are obviously manmade and shouldn't be hard to date. How far away is the stone you show at http://farm1.static.flickr.com/128/329334717_acf7d48063_m.jpg from the 'pier'? Are the dimensions of that stone similar to anything at Stonehenge?

Went there again today at low tide, all prepared GPS, tape etc. Thought I could remember where it was, we searched around by the piers to avail :-(

Got back home checked the first discovery pix and deduced I was searching on the wrong side of the peir :-(

I'll shall return again on the next low tide and get a good GPS fix.

I feel this is turning into a right little project :-)

Stone size is 7ft by 4ft.
