I don't think I'll bother you by taking it up, thanks.

If the finders describe themselves as local historians yet took two years to find a six feet tall standing stone which they say was in their back garden, then I might as well just turn up at where I think it should be and if I can't find it myself, then I'll ask some locals. Between us, I think we've gathered enough info to find it.

Now, while we're talking about the area, do you know of the fate of the burial chambers which used to stand in the garden of the old rectory in Avening? When I went looking for them last year, I was told that they'd been destroyed. :o(

I'll have to check this out,
that would be sad news indeed,
I have visited them but it took me a while to find them and was a couple of years ago now.
They were on a slope below a track way as I remember ,but a bit overgrown.
