There are lots of different opinions about what is valuable Nigel.....

So what do YOU think Jon?
Is the Stonehenge and Avebury WHS of outstanding universal value to mankind or not?
Or should British Government economists at the behest of the Tory party be allowed to decide?!

No, there's no place for economists at the conservation table. Simple really.

This particular WHS is designated to be of outstanding universal value: UNESCO used a similar, perhaps identical, wording. However, the phrase 'outstanding value' doesn't quantify how much value it has, just that it is outstanding. I agree that it is outstanding.

My personal opinion is that it will be possible to quantify that value at some point in the future. However, I doubt that quantification will occur in a timescale that will affect the outcome of this consultation. Nevertheless, I'll look into the possibility of putting in a holding set of arguments in the current consultation. If you're contributing to the consultation, I wish you luck Nigel.
