Aye, I come from that age as well – a time when my kids could run round the stones and even climb on some of them... tsk ;-) But times change, hammers are no longer given out for a bit of the monument to take home with you, and the tatty fast-food/souvenir/tunnel experience that’s still there is soon to be zapped.

We can’t change the Stonehenge attraction Mr S – like the Giza Pyramids and the Taj Mahal people will come in their millions to see it. What we can do is keep an eye on what’s on offer and work towards making it as good as it can be.

Yes of course you're right LS I can't deny that. I have book upon book here (like you have no doubt) and I doubt if any of them have come close enough to the real truth so it's still a good research project for newbies to get themselves stuck into and possibly form an opinion on eventually, which has always been the exciting part for me...the researching.
