So what's your other henge though? I thought the posts under the car park were just posts, not a circle. Is that misreporting again on the link or am I misunderstanding?

And where's this new one been found?
I want grid references :)

1) New henge;"Stonehenge had a previously unknown wooden "twin" just 900m to its north-west, according to remarkable new archaeological investigations."

2) Stone stonehenge in the middle ;)

3)"Of potential significance is the fact that the newly found henge "mirrors" a similar monument (this time long known to archaeologists) on the other side of Stonehenge – 1,300m south-east of the famous monument. Like the newly discovered site, it is in direct line of sight of Stonehenge and had two entrances. All three monuments would have been roughly aligned."

Not exactly grid referenced Rhiannon but I expect Tiompan can work it out for us, they're not exactly spaced...

Rhiannon,

Go on then, I'll have a go. Having looked at the aerial shot on the BBC News website, then comparing it with my 1:25000 O.S. map, I reckon the new henge is at grid reference SU114427, between the Greater Cursus and the A344, just E of the S end of the Fargo Plantation, near the memorial marked on the map.

The other henge is at about SU134416, on Coneybury Hill. It's marked on the map as "Henge (site of)" with a cross, of all things.

Instead of a NW-SE orientation, I reckon it's more WNW-ESE.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
TE.
