Persoannly I reckon they should build a whole string of them across the Plain, each one a rebuild of a different phase of the monument, so that you can walk through the evolution of the site.
Why is it any more valid to preserve it how it is now, rather than to how it was before people started restoring it?
When the rose window in York Cathedral got trashed in the fire, whydidn't we just leave a great gaping hole in the building?
