It's the same old story though isn't it Goff, we're reaching so far back into the mists of time that little is for sure. Almost a blank canvas for people to paint their own theories upon; finish one canvas in that series then start on another, and before long you've got a whole gallery that's full and makes perfect sense to the painter - but in reality hangs on the slimmest thread of 'perhaps'.

Each bit of evidence (even those bits that are subsequently shown to have been misinterpreted) are of value though, and I agree with you totally when you say 'it's always a good thing to get people interested in these things, and it's always nice to see such coverage on national telly'.

Like happens here. Maybe too much is expected of archaeologists. They know a lot about the details but they're not much better off than us when it comes to guessing how it all fitted together. I recommend you watch it Goff, I really enjoyed it.
