Stonehenge and its Environs 134

Each generation gets the Stonehenge its predecessors bequeath.

It took EH 35 years to admit its predecessors had presided over a mess up at Silbury.

I wonder how many years it would be before EH's successors admitted that removing a million cubic yards of the World Heritage Site was maybe not a very good thing to have done?

'Not a very good thing' is putting it mildly - but then we're so surrounded by incompetence (re: the recent postal voting fiasco) that I passed the point of despair long ago. The Heritage Action Alert on Stonehenge is a staggering piece of work - I stand in awe of it yet fear, in the end, it'll come down to chains at dawn.
