Stonehenge and its Environs 134

ooh I'm having a little vision of the future...

.. 'The Silbury Experience' interactive multimedia centre at the base of the hill (entrance £5.50) including holograms of King Sil himself and druids galore

... Miniature silbury paperweights in silver plate for sale in the shop on top of the hill

... Cable cars travelling up and down the slope

If EH did this they could pay for the repairs in no time.

I'd vote for it! And the jester could operate the cable car.

Excuse the sarcasm above.

By the way, it's interesting that the journey to the stones will now take 25 minutes via the land train. When I went to stonehenge and did the hand-held tour I didn't get the impression that visitors stay 25 minutes generally. Perhaps they do. I wonder if a trip to stonehenge on a coach will now consist of driving along the 303 and peering out the window. 'ooh they're not as big as I thought they'd be' etc.
