Hi Magenta

I love Weymouth - the holiday destination of my childhood, and always remains a favourite daytrip of mine!

Without looking too hard, I'm not so sure there's loads of stuff on the doorstep, but within driving distance, and certainly if you're visiting the Nine Stones, you got some lovely stuff just up the road...

The Hellstone (http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/323/hellstone.html)
Hampton Down (http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/1261/hampton_down.html)
Kingston Russell (http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/282/kingston_russell.html)
The Grey Mare and her Colts (http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/41/grey_mare_and_her_colts.html)
The Valley of Stones (http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/42/valley_of_stones.html)

And then slightly further afield:

Rempstone (http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/48/rempstone_stone_circle.html)
Nine Barrows Down (http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/322/nine_barrows_down.html)
The Puckstone (http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/3052/puckstone.html) and Agglestone (http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/319/agglestone.html)
Studland stone row (http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/3048/studland_stone_row.html)

Peter Knight's "Ancient Stones of Dorset" is a pretty good book for finding most of these and more (although it does go on about leylines quite a bit).

Sorry I've not got more time right now!

likewise

the walk from west bexington up onto the ridge and down again into abbotsbury is absolutely gorgeous and passes a dozen bronze again burial mounds and the abbotsbury iron age hillfort.

there is a tiny lesser known circle further on on the route to the hardy monument - it's on the OS map

grey mare and kingston circle (and the hut circles below) a must on another mid blowing ramble
