...but I need to pop over to Basildon in Essex at the weekend. Is it really the neolithic desert it appears from the lack of entries on TMA?

Any pointers?

As a resident of Essex I can say its a big Yes to being a desrert of most things, historically and probably culturaly.

There's a couple of reasonable Earthworks in Epping Forest and thats about all your going to find.

Give it a couple of Thousand years and they will be excavating the ruins of the out of Town Superstores so loved by Essex Man.
