Does anyone have any info on The Long Stone on the outskirts of Armagh city? All I can find is that the hospital is named after it: http://www.hospitalsoup.com/hospitals/Longstone-Hospital.asp
in a word, no
Cheers Andy
I shall be over that way in April and my mate has family in Armagh. I'll work in some investigation of the stone into a family visit.
Mind you, there's always a chance that the stone may not be where it once was, having been 'given' to the RUC in time honoured Bandit Country fashion.
This is as vague a clue as you can get, but I found a site with greeting cards from a Northern Ireland artist (http://www.alganarts.com/greetingscards.htm), among Lenaganny and a a few other things, there is this

There are contact details (at the bottom of the page) maybe the artist can shed some light, does seem to have sketched loads of sites in N.I.
