I agree that the demise of the stone might not be recorded, but it might be possible to figure out when it was last recorded as being there.

It's interesting to learn about the differences in mapping between the UK and Eire. Are the Irish OS maps a bit more (how do I put this politely?) shonky?

I like the Irish OS maps in general, I find the Northern Ireland maps harder to read with all the bright colours and 'ye olde scribe' type font. Dont know if these are the same as the rest of the UK though.
