Hi
I wonder if any one could help me. I am looking for any old paintings or sketches of Swinside. I have been googling without success. I contacted Suarveharv, from whose weblog I first became aware of the stone circle and he has looked through his library but can not find anything. Any help would be much appreciated

It is proving more difficult than I thought I offered to look for Swinside artwork for a friend who has family connections with the immediate area where the circle stands He mentioned that an illustration had appeared in the Gentleman’s Magazine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Gentleman%27s_Magazine. There are compendiums of available but as it ran for nearly two hundred years I think it will be difficult to find.
