But the thing <i>is</i>, is that just folklore masquarading as fact?! Just because An Archaeologist said it, does that give it sufficient weight as the Truth? After all, there's a stone somewhere where the indentations are said to be caused by a fairy's high heeled shoes. That's easier to dismiss as a poor explanation, especially in the current century, though it might have been taken as fact in a similar way in the past. This 'god save the queen' thing sounds suspiciously similar to me. Still, it might be true.
