Worth the effort though, gets a nice perspective on the floorplan of the tomb.

It would be an even sillier thing to find oneself doing, but being 14foot up a tree and waving a camera-onna-stick, monopod style, would probably get another 6ft up in the air.

Rather worryingly, I overheard Mark on the phone to a fellow stone-lover last night saying " d'you fancy coming up with us next time and we'll climb the trees and see if we can get better pictures?" They sounded like young boys but both of them are the wrong side of 40! Mark is deffo more interested in the mechanics of picture-taking than the stones themslef!

We did think though, if you placed the ladders against the big oaks in the centre of the circle you could get up into the branches and high enough to get some great shots. Mind you, I think it must be 30 years or so since I last climbed a tree....
