I had written some field notes up for this site, but having seen your posts I thought it might spoil your fun.

Having read Guy Underwood's report of 1946 in WAM 51, it was probably just as well.

Check out Guy's field sketch's for Jugg's Grave and the Conkwell Stone Circle in no man's land I've posted.

Let us know you get on. Will post up what I found out after your visit.....

Hello Chance - that plan you've posted
http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/post/65408/images/jugs_grave.html
looks pretty imaginative to me?? in that a circular structure really isn't obvious from the stones..
But then when you're there in person it's always quite different. Which is not to say that Mr Underwood wasn't imaginative at times, judging by his 'patterns of the past' book.

In any case, I hope you didn't miss the well at Conkwell, just down the road. You have to shuffle up to it on your knees and collect the water in your left hand, making a wish before you drink. (Removing the plastic bags, coke tins etc beforehand for a nicer experience).

Well, all this looks very interesting and more to see than I first though, I am looking forward to another 'attempted' visit.
I might try to get there this Sunday (20th) if the weather is reasonable. I will let you know how I get on.

juamei are you available for a visit, or anybody else that are interested for that matter?

Chris
