My name is Cy Claunch and I live in the United States. I would greatly appreciate any information that anyone could provide regarding the surname of Claunch. History, area, etc.

One of my colleagues is a Courtney Claunch, she's American as well...Do you know her? ;o)

She says on Ancestry.com the name Claunch is derived from the old Slavic name 'Klon', which means 'Maple'.

There is a farm with the name of Claunch close to Sorbie in Dumfries and Galloway , nice rock art there too. Grid ref = NX 427 481 .
