I don't think the Ri Cruin CnR is really there Goff, I couldn't see it. But I'd be tickled pink if you could get yersell oot there at night with a lamp in the autumn and prove me wrong.
But you're making a valid point, if Litttle Meg has been chalked, it's not first. There was a thread a small while back where discussion on the issue was prompted by a tma contributor chalking on marked stones up Ilkley way.
Personally I don't hold with chaliking the motifs these days, mostly out of consideration for other visitors interpretation of what's there/not there, but also out of a suspicion that it might not be good for the carvings, but my chemistry isn't good enough to allow me to feel able to offer a firm reason.
