Talking of odd stuff. I recently bought Hencken's Scilly & Cornwall book (1933). It has a photo of Boscowen Un in there that's most odd:

The circle is on a walled platform with steps leading up to it. Anyone know owt about these? I don't remember the site like this. Am I really forgetful?

It wouldn't just be an optical illusion, would it? There IS a wall around it, and some steps going over it at one point, so could it just LOOK like it's raised on a platform?
