Dunno if it's any help to you but there's a nice article written by Andrew Fleming on St Kilda in the April 2005 edition of the Prehistoric Societies newsletter PAST. It's available on their website http://www.ucl.ac.uk/prehistoric/

St Kilda & The Wider World: Tales of an Iconic Island.

There's a pretty good review of it in this month's British Archaeology magazine.
