Found this site by chance. The guy who was struck is a friend of mine. It was touch and go for a week or so but he is now out of ITU and making a good recovery. He is able to speak, to see and to move his hands and feet. His internal and external burns, although very severe, are healing well. He's got a long and painful recuperation ahead of him though.
