Surely not?
So the Thornborough Campaign is a complete waste of time?
And nothing is diminished by removal from it's setting?

I'd better look after my bit of garden then as it may be the only bit of archaeology left for our children and grandchildren

How selfish some people are

Oh Nigel, I can't take Briga's question's seriously they're so extreme, life and archaeology is not black and white.......

I was just trolling - FWIW I'm not a big fan of "Polluter pays" PPG16 (but its better than nothing) and I would like to see more open area excavation (it can be much more informative than lots of little holes).

Having dug at Thornborough I was amazed to discover how tremendous a place it was (back in 1999); I'm also a believer in the importance of landscape archaeology (a holistic approach informed by "spirit of place").
