Silbury Mound

The only original name that's com up, the Great Bank, is encouraging in a way as it's so clearly a misidentification. It's definitely not a bank, as it's round and is clearly a mound.
I'm wondering whether the name Great Bank actually refers to what it's built up against, which is self-evidently a bank.

Perhaps if an astronomical alignment could be determined, between the two, then that could give clues to the original name or description. Maybe try finding the magnetic heading between the mound and the hill, as well as the elevation of the horizon.

I thought the name "swallowhead" was in there somewhere (or is that a generic term).
