I think there's something going on with this lot, though I don't know what.
A while back, I mentioned on here I felt there was something "just right" about the Stanton drew NE Circle and someone else said they had felt the same thing.

So maybe there's a proportionality issue, not just a size one - i.e. the relationship between the diameter of the circle and the height of the uprights, at about 6:1 ..........

That proportion would be closer to 10:1 for the NE circle i.e. 29.6 : 3 . There area couple of examples that are quite close to the 29.6 circumference but nothing as close as S.D. and Stonehenge match .
The US must have countless examples of architect bretheren who built towns and buildings according to the proportions of the Temple and other masonic lore . There is the classic case of roads aligned on the solstice and lined by skyscrapers ,once a year ,if not cloudy , impossible to drive down at certain times of day .
