Just stumbled across this topic, and i have to say that i have never heard of any rock art being in Throckley. I have lived in Throckley for 26 years and this is new to me. I am now curious to the location of this art as i often walk the dog through the dene.

I was down there on Friday, the marked boulder is still there, and intact. I hope it stays that way over the winter. The campfires are still being lit, rocks are being split, so it's not a safe bit of stone.

I'm increasingly of the opinion that this stone should be incarcerated in a museum.
