And I scrubbed all the sites I could - so's I could have an undisturbed period of time. What happened ? I spent it rebuilding an Enclosure Act wall and reading many trashy paperbacks in the rain. Latest is dr who - eye of heaven - and seems to be about a rongaronga stone.

I noticed on the Dod Law stone images, behind the cup and rings, a round hole. I'll bet that that is both (a) 2 Megalithic inches across and (b) an integral part of the design.

(Wonder if there's anything left of my tent - will soon know) ...

It's an odd one that hole. About 3ins deep, either a) something to place arod of some sort in, or b) an attempt to link the panel with the holed naturally holed stones found associated with rock art else where in the area (maybe).

Gods only know if similar marks are lying under places like Geltsdale or Kitten Tom. I'd like to think there are.

PS: Yonder Throckley stone is close enough to go and keep a check on it every now and then d'you think?
