I know the Fosse Way runs pretty close by, an ancient road shanghaied by the Romans for their own ends, so guess the road running alongside Rollright's could feasibly be an offshoot to destinations unknown.

Have walked the region quite a lot, as it's the nearest decent prehistoric remains to where I live, but must admit, it's not my fav' ancient monument for the reasons that costaexpress states.

Plus, if you go after a good downpour, the local mud adds about 5 pounds of clag to each of your boots.

Still, the stones themselves are amazing, though my missus does have a problem with the 'holes'. They freak her out a bit (she doesn't like 'holes') and those bloody modern pagans who use the site rarely clean up after themselves.
