And, I have realised only this morning, here we touch on why I don't like the spiritual/stone link.

It becomes elitist. It says that I get more from the stones than you lot and they're not for you. It says I understand these more than you, so leave them alone.

All my writings are from this perspective. "You don't need to *feel the power* and see purple ley lines to get loads form these places."

It's quite refreshing to finally know why I'm such a git :-)

And for those that don't know, Michael Franti actually says "Everybody deserves music", but I like to stretch it a little :-)

I can't remember her name, Lottie something or other, but a German artist up in Durness (top bit of Scotland just before you fall in the water!) makes these lovely ceramics, takes them out into the wilds, photographs them in situ - then walks away and just leaves them there for others to find. Part of the 'art is ephemeral' sort of idea, she never knows what happens to them! I like that concept, no bullshit at all.

"why I don't like the spiritual/stone link. It becomes elitist. It says that I get more from the stones than you lot and they're not for you. It says I understand these more than you".

That's a bit harsh, in my elite opinion. I don't get any spiritual feelings from stones but if others say they do then either they're deluded (which makes me the elite) or they do, in which case good luck to them. Most of them are perfectly 'umble and matter-of-fact about it, which is fine, although I agree with you that there comes a point where pretentiousness starts to rear it's head. The ones that dress up in cloaks and dance around and actually talk to the dead get up even my nose, and I'm a fair minded tolerant liberal, so heaven knows what effect they have on you!
