I love the Rollrights. I love art. I love sculpture, especially landscape sculpture and Kapoor is pretty well respected. However, I abhor the 'utter bollocks' and namby-pamby nonsense that accompanies art criticism. Ordinary people are put off by it as it makes the work of art into some highbrow chicken shit which is incomprehensible to the masses. Which as far as i am concerned is totally counter-productive.

Art should be for the people. As indeed the Rollrights are and always have been.

Why not just say "Art at the Rollrights. Come and have a butchers and make up your own mind."

It has to be said that "utter bollocks" is also a very easy thing to type, whether or not it is actually correct.

People miss the piont with modern art all too willingly sometimes. I think this will look fantastic at the Rollrights and will add a dimension to the place that I am looking forward to seeing. It seems to be being done in a spirit of utter respect for the place, that I know the Trust are very happy with, rather than as a glorified advertising hoarding (See Uffington)

Infinitely more attractive.
