On the top of the Knowe of Verron there lies exposed a structure http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/post/31855 in the centre of which is a pit, very roughly a foot square and deeper than that, that arouses my curiosity. Open as it is it surely cannot be from the unrecorded excavation, and the 2001 dig seems to have worked only on the eroding section (as I read the NMRS on CANMORE). my two main thoughts are burial and metalworking.
