Isle Of Lewis

close

Hiya,

Well....I'm FINALLY getting to Callanish at the end of August. Wa-hey!

I was wondering though if any of y'all who have been there have an idea about how many days will suffice to stay on the island.

I mean, I know aside from Callanish there are more sites, but I don't want to find myself stuck out there with not much to do after checking everything out.

So, is 2-3 days enough, too much, or too little?

Ideas appreciated as always.

Scott

That sounds fine especially if you have a car. if not there are buses to take you to callanish and surrounding area and I assume other places( the broch, black house etc). Although if you feel like doing some walking and enjoying the peace you may like to stay longer.
have a great time

Hi there,
Joolio Geordio & I were there three years ago, I think we went for three days and stayed for six or something. There is so much stuff to see and do - make sure you pop in on Ron & Margaret Curtis - go on one of their tours and have your eyes opened.

A Wierd, Magical place - once visited, never forgotten.

Guess what?> we're going back in September - along with some other island hopping

Enjoy your trip

there was an article about a proposed sunday flight from lewis to the mainland in sunday's observer and local opposition to it, it gave you an idea of the sunday life style there.
thought you may be interested, it might be online (not sure).
