That is very encouraging CW and there is no doubt your hard work has contributed to the outcome.

Hear hear!
And if the word spreads to other "guardians" it could have a wider beneficial effect. For instance, if this had all happened a couple of years ago I doubt if NT would have accepted money from Channel 4 to plaster the Big Brother logo at Uffington.

Thanks for your encouragement everyone. This is a result, of course, of the efforts of a lot of people.

I think you are right about Uffington Nigel. But the message has definitely got through this time. Partly with the help of F4J :-)

Actually, its a better result than either a prosecution under the Ancient Monuments Act OR a knuckle rapping by Ofcom.

For the Secretary of State to have written
"I agree that all concerned should be left in no doubt about their responsibilities in respect of our archaeological heritage. I have therefore asked English Heritage to write to ITV to help avoid a repetition of these events in the future
... is quite a big deal as any broadcater is going to see ancient sites as pretty dangerous territory from now on.

Maybe it can be widely publicised as The Cursuswalker Principle.
;)

Congratulations CW, determined grit wins the day...

to quote..
"Partly with the help of F4J :-)" Sod em! they're next on the firing list.
