Definitely not the stone root (shame) - nowhere near a metre and it was well over into the next field. Still it does exemplify the problem of finding out when after excavation ceases if the remains have been left in situ or removed during the digging process (even when this seems to be certain e.g. the Broch of Lingro was simply levelled, not absolutely gone as archaeologists thought)
