I've just had confirmation from English Heritage that they are ammending their records to reflect the cup and ring marks I rediscovered on the stone *above* pavement level.

They're going to send someone out to double check, but the guy I spoke to is relatively confident that the marks in my photo are the real thing.

That's a bit more rock-art for Merseyside!
