Because if you go and sit at the stood up two, with it in mind that the stone may have been stood you when the marks were put on it, it will make more sense, sit against it and pretend to rub it with an imaginary axe to see [at stood up and laid down sites], sorry if you didn't read it say this, i did but not sure where, but i bet when you were there you assumed the stones to be laid down, and sorry i didn't mean to patronise, it just happens very naturally.
