I too would very much like to make a donation to this cause. Although I left Kent many years ago I have fond memories of the area. In fact I courted my late wife in Ryarsh wood nearby nearly 50 years ago!
Do you have more details of this appeal or an address where I can send a check.
Not yet, I'm still waiting for an official reply from several involved parties, namely Kent Heritage, Joan Bygraves and the Heritage Lottery Fund to name but three. So before I take all your lovely money and fly to Barbados [!!], I think it's best to establish that the whole project is viable and supported.
I met the new chef at the Angel today, he will try to get them to add a donation to each meal bill, which would be amazing.
Ryarsh Wood is not what it was, sadly [then neither is Ryarsh], now overmanaged, coppiced and barbed-wired. But if you want memories, visit the excellent Ryarsh Community site and forum http://www.ryarsh.info/index.htm, where they also hoard a few old photos of the church and village from yesteryear.
Dammit I really wanted to make a cheap joke about discarded underwear, but you offered me money!
