Liz Dyson from Kent Heritage officially closed the Addington Barrow hole today, but said that if someone can come up with £200k the offer has been made to reroute the road south of the barrow, reuniting its two ends, and giving Joan B a much bigger front garden!

I have pledged a grand, and more if it needs it later [no idea where it's coming from tho], and I'm going to start hassling the prominent locals, Parish Council etc, and see if I can get a grant off the Lottery Commission, Heritage Funds etc, see what I can generate.

You've pledged a grand? that's bloody impressive, S. I guess it shows how important it is that people are aware of their local sites and then local people will care about them and look after them. I hope you find plenty of support. You're so passionate about it I'm sure you will have no problem pursuading people - the best of luck.

(I feel a bit ashamed. but if I was loaded I would give you some money)
