Holm is Old Norse for something like 'sheltered spot'.

Moonwatchers could note that the highest tide, of this lunar month, is at tea time tomorrow. At least it is in North Shields.

Actually Holm is the old Norse for a hat stand:

"Where ever I lay my hat that's my holm"
