You'll get as many opinions as to what constitutes dignified as you will types of people. Many will say opera was dignified. Many will say druids are dignified. I'm sure each of these groups thought they were honouring the sanctity of the place.

Very true, but I don't think the definitive decision on "what constitutes dignified" can be left to individual groups else anyone that says a Teletubby convention would be dignified at Stonehenge will be entitled to hold one. It has to be left to EH/NT or whoever to make the judgements (and they WILL have to make those judgements as their funding will be frozen yet again) and everyone is entitled to lobby them on the subject I suppose.
