Exactly. The question of how far you go will have to be confronted shortly it seems - see t'other thread.

We live in a country that has pimped a world-unique ancient white horse to the makers of Big Brother so we need to confront the idea that some of these places have a "dignity" that needs protecting.

You'll get as many opinions as to what constitutes dignified as you will types of people. Many will say opera was dignified. Many will say druids are dignified. I'm sure each of these groups thought they were honouring the sanctity of the place.
