Hmmm, and I've been in Heaton, all student flats and untidy backlanes.

"Bronze Age roundhouses all present and correct" - I found one of these once. Didn't realise what it was for a while - it's listed on here as 'hut' and gives that name to the adjacent burn. Then I lost it, and when I went to intensively look for it the keepers thought I was looking for a hen harrier they'd shot, a couple of weeks before, that was carrying a radio transmitter. I kept looking at a cycle computer - they'd think it was a directionfinder - but it was my clock!

They shot a hen harrier?!!! I thought that was the most protected species in the UK? We have a pair on Carningli -- last year they helped to save the mountain from a bunch of nutters who wanted to spray the slopes with Asulox, to kill the bracken. Give me bracken rather than Asulox any day.
