No, they're telling you wrong. That policy - of only accepting reviews from their customers - is consistent with Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk. The closest I could get - without buying through them - is to comment on Barry's review. on A.co.uk. Amapedia will only accept bona fide customers too. These are my experimental results! It is understandable ...
Very strange. Why would they give me did info? I made a direct enquiry to them, and got a personal reply. I'll investigate further....

I think the rule is that you have to be an existing customer with an account. ie you might have bought a kitchen mixer from them 3 years ago. As long as your account is "live" then they should accept reviews from you.

Sorry -- I meant DUD info!

I know you meant dud. I'm the other side of the fence - I don't buy stuff off Amazon but make sure the tidal wave, of corrugated cardboard containers, is flowing in the right direction, at Christmas. And then I'll use their reviews to decide which films or music to download (allegedly). Their 'cookies' keep perfect track of which articles I have searched for previously. But that review policy they have is tied to the actual book - it's 'you must have purchased this item from us and 24 hours must have elapsed'. It's been a good try and the very first book review I've ever wrot - so it can only lead to improvement!
