Somebody who had a look at the Britice LGM model commented that id didn't provide much evidence for glaciation as far east as Salisbury plain. Quite correct -- but remember that the model was for the Last Glaciation limit. I'm not necessarily talking about that one -- but about a glaciation that was far older. Alun Hubbard and colleagues are now starting work on the modelling of the GBG (Greatest British Glaciation) -- age still not known. We know that there are traces of glaciation on Lundy, in the Mendips, around Bath, on the Somerset Levels, in the Cotswolds, and of course on the coasts of Devon, Somerset and Cornwall. All of the known traces of glaciation in the SW have to be fed into this new model. It could be intriguing........
