That's a nice idea moss - trouble is if it were built close to Stonehenge you'd still have the unsightly mush of coaches and cars milling about with all the noise and pollution that goes with them.

Stonehenge is still a place of pilgrimage for many and not just another sight on the tourist route. I think we owe it to this and future generations to try and recapture some of the peace, quiet and mystery that once surrounded it.

Actually, it's never really occurred to me before but this whole Stonehenge debate is all about restoring some of the <i>atmosphere</i> of the place - not restoring the place itself. I can't actually think of many ancient sites where that has been done before - perhaps that's one of the reasons why it's proving so difficult to get the future of Stonehenge right.
