Bump.

Probably this thread will get subverted like a lot of others recently but maybe it's worth a try.

Was just wondering what studies have been done on identifying the 'original' position of the fallen stones at Stonehenge? And putting aside the argument of whether or not they should ever be restored to their original positions, is it known a) where all the fallen stones where originally? and b) has anyone attempted a computer/graphic reconstruction of how Stonehenge would look if all the fallen stones presently on site were back in their 'original' positions?

Littlestone,
I reckon everyone on this site would really love to have the experience of seeing it as it was, and to have the chance to walk amongst the original Stonehenge (original as in when all the trilithons were erected). As it is we'll just have to be content with reconstructions in the form of the likes of Foamhenge, which would be best added to the proposed visitor centre, well away from Stonehhenge. How educational would that be? Plus it'd probably satisfy a good many casual tourists, who would then not bother going to the real stones, thus relieving the environmental pressures.
Regards,
TE.
